Vision: School of Mines to be a leader in provision of higher education in mines and mineral sciences in the region and beyond, celebrated for its comprehensive and rigorous teaching, learning, research and scholarly programmes that are responsive to the needs of individuals, industry and society.

Mission Statement: School of Mines is a centre of excellency in the provision of teaching, research and consultancy services to individuals, the public and industry in Zambia, region and beyond in the area of mines and mineral science programmes.

ZPPA COMMENDS UNZA The Zambia Public Procurement Authority (ZPPA) has commended the University of Zambia Procurement Committee for adhering to the provisions of the Public Procurement Act. This is contained in a letter dated 8th November 2012 written to the University Vice-chancellor Professor Stephen Simukanga.ZPPA Director General Danies Chisenda encouraged the Procurement Unit and the Procurement Committee to continue with the good work. The Procurement Committee has also been encouraged to continue to submitting minutes in good time immediately after confirmation.
