Agricultural Sciences Image

The School of Agricultural Sciences was established in 1971 at the Great East Road Campus of the University of Zambia in Lusaka.
The School offers five undergraduate programmes of five-year duration leading to the degree of Bachelor of Agricultural Sciences. These include: Agricultural Economics and extension, Animal Science, Crop Science, Land management and Food Science and Technology. The School has introduced  a new programme, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Nutrition. The School also offers two Master of Science programmes of a two-year duration in Agronomy (with the option to specialise in either Crop Science of Soil Science) and in Animal Science. The Crop Science option has been developed into a SADC regional MSc programme, training students from the SADC region.

Change from Semester to Term system The University Senate, in the interest of all stakeholders, has made a decision to revert to the Term System in the 2013 Academic Year which commences in October this year.Rightly so, some questions and concerns are being raised about the impact of this shift on degree classifications and payment of fees.
