Strategic Plan for School of Medicine Launched PDF Print E-mail
The school of Medicine on 15th March 2012 launched it five year Strategic plan. Officiating at the occasion which was held at the Mulungushi International Conference Center, Education, Science, Vocational Training and Early Education Minister John Phiri said it was gratifying that the University of Zambia through School of Medicine has developed a Strategic plan on how training shall be conducted and what the requirements of such training should be.  The Minister also noted that the implementation process of the Strategic Plan will require additional staff for the School, Space for offices, research, teaching and accommodation among the many logistics.

“It is worth noting that the launch of the School of Medicine Strategic Plan 2012-2016 coincides with the launch of the National Health Service Strategic plan 2011-2015 for the Ministry of Health whose main theme is; 'towards attainment of health related millennium development goals and other national health priorities in a clean, caring, competent environment,” he said.

Speaking earlier Dean of the School Dr Fastone Goma said the School of Medicine Strategic Plan intends to give strategic direction for the School. He said the Plan responds to the current and emerging needs of the Health sector and will go a long way in producing relevant, qualified human resource to meet the Country's health needs.

ZPPA COMMENDS UNZA The Zambia Public Procurement Authority (ZPPA) has commended the University of Zambia Procurement Committee for adhering to the provisions of the Public Procurement Act.  This is contained in a letter dated 8th November 2012 written to the University Vice-chancellor Professor Stephen Simukanga.ZPPA Director General Danies Chisenda encouraged the Procurement Unit and the Procurement Committee to continue with the good work.  The Procurement Committee has also been encouraged to continue to submitting minutes in good time immediately after confirmation.
