Call for Research Proposals PDF Print E-mail
With support from SAIH, The University of Zambia (UNZA) HIV and AIDS Response Unit is inviting research proposals from Staff and postgraduate students at UNZA to undertake research in the field of HIV and AIDS in Zambia. Research into critical subthemes like Sexual and reproductive health services and rights and gender as they relate to HIV and AIDS will also be supported A total of four people will be supported, namely two staff members and two postgraduate students.

Eligibility: All UNZA staff and postgraduate students are eligible to apply

Duration: The undertaking of the proposed research should not exceed one year from the time the grant is awarded

Budgets:
•    Two members of staff will each receive support up to K 10, 000, 000
•    Two postgraduate students will each receive support up to K 5, 000, 000

Proposals should:
1.    Be related to HIV and AIDS
2.    Not exceed 10 pages
3.    Include clearly defined research objectives
4.    Include detailed methodology specifying the sample population, sample size and measures (data collection tools)
5.    Include a time line of the proposed  research
6.    Include a detailed budget
7.    State ethical considerations

Beneficiaries of the award will be required to work with the HIV and AIDS Response Office once called upon and also acknowledge in their report the financial support received from SAIH through the HIV and AIDS Response Office.

Proposals that are not HIV and AIDS related will not be considered

 Closing date:  31st August 2012. Proposals received after the deadline will not be considered.
