WITH SUPPORT FROM THE MEDICAL EDUCATION PARTNERSHIP INITIATIVE (MEPI) PROJECT THE SCHOOL OF MEDICINE HAS DETERMINED TO RECRUIT PROFESSORS/LECTURERS TO FILL VACANCIES IN THE DIFFERENT DEGREE PROGRAMS IN ALIGNMENT WITH THE STRATEGIC PLAN 2012-2016. THIS IS AIMED AT INCREASING THE NUMBER AND QUALITY OF GRADUATES.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: To teach and carry out related academic tasks, conduct research and perform relevant duties in clinical service.

INESOR Documentation and Information Centre renamed
The Institute of Economic and Social Research (INESOR) Documentation and Information Centre at the University of Zambia has been renamed.  It will now be called Elizabeth Colson Research and Documentation Centre.
The renaming ceremony was held on 6th July 2012 at INESOR in Lusaka, Zambia.  Colson is an emeritus professor of anthropology at the University of California who came to Zambia (Northern Rhodesia) in 1946 as a Senior Research Officer of Rhodes – Livingstone Institute now INESOR.  She was Director of the Institute from 1948 to 1951.   Prof. Colson has a distinguished record of publications to her credit and she has been a pillar of inspiration and support to the University of Zambia Community.

Change from Semester to Term system The University Senate, in the interest of all stakeholders, has made a decision to revert to the Term System in the 2013 Academic Year which commences in October this year.Rightly so, some questions and concerns are being raised about the impact of this shift on degree classifications and payment of fees. We wish to assure all students and other stakeholders that measures are being put in place so that no one is disadvantaged. You will be kept informed of the developments as Schools embark on course reviews for the Term System.
