Devise Policy on sponsorship - Simukanga
UNZA vice-chancellor Professor Stephen Simukanga says the government should devise a deliberate policy in providing students sponsorship to help address low staffing levels in the mining sector.
And mines minister Christopher Yaluma has pledged more financial assistance to the School of Mines to boost the provision of quality mining graduates into the sector.
UNZA Jilin seal Pact
The University of Zambia and Jilin University of China have unveiled a plaque for the construction of the geological research centre at the School of Mines. plaque was held yesterday 23rd April at the school of Mines.
Speaking at the ceremony, the UNZA Vice-Chancellor Prof. Stephen Simukanga said the unveiling of the geological research centre signaled a giant step to build what would be a regional and continental hub for public and strategic geological investigation, research and training.
