Bindery Unit
The Bindery Unit of the library performs a number of in-house repairs and preservation treatments for older and damaged materials. These include simple repairs, pam binding, laminating, or constructing phase boxes for items that can not be repaired.
Several times during the year User Services Librarian may be called upon by the Bindery Unit to review damaged materials and make recommendations regarding the repair and retention of titles. All titles will be repaired to the degree possible unless an item is selected by a liaison librarian to be withdrawn.
The service is available 09.00hrs- 17.00hrs on weekdays but is dependent on staff availability and, at busy periods, binding cannot always be done immediately. The unit provides a wide range of excellent binding services such as: repair of damaged books, binding research projects and theses. The main styles of binding are: case binding, spiral binding and manila binding.
