Lusaka Mayor visits UNZA
The Mayor of Lusaka city Mr Mulenga Sata on Thursday 25th September 2014 visited the University of Zambia to familiarize himself with the operations of the institution. The mayor was welcomed by the Acting Vice-Chancellor Prof. Enala Tembo Mwase, Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor Prof. Bizeck Phiri and Registrar Dr. Kavwanga Yambayamba.
Mr Sata said his visit was meant to start interaction with the University and find the best way to develop the area around the institution. He challenged the University to come up with solutions to some challenges facing the Lusaka City Council especially in the field of engineering. The Mayor later took a short tour of the institution.

UNZA Management, UNZAWU conclude negotiations
University of Zambia Registrar Dr. kavwanga Yambayamba has thanked the University of Zambia and Allied workers Union (UNZAWU) for showing great leadership and demonstrating that they had the heart of the institution. The Registrar was speaking at the signing ceremony to conclude the 2014 negotiations for conditions of service.
And (UNZAWU) has praised UNZA Management for the way the 2014 negotiations for conditions of service were handled. UNZAWU Deputy President Mr Willa Mulabika said it was gratifying that the negotiations were successfully concluded.
Books for Africa Donates to UNZA
Books for Africa have donated over 22,000 books to the University of Zambia worth over US $12,000. Speaking at the event held at UNZA Main Library, on 17th September, 2014 Books for Africa Ambassador Henry Bromelkamp congratulated the University of Zambia for the participation that made the book donation a success.Read more...

Opening of the 2014 Academic Year
This serves to inform all first year and returning students that Senate at its sitting of 18th September 2014 resolved to further postpone opening of the University of Zambia by one week,
To this effect, first year students should report to the University of Zambia Great East Road Campus on Sunday 28th September 2014. Returning students should report on Sunday 5th October 2014
However the online Registration System will open on Sunday 21st September 2014 to enable commencement of payment of Fees and Registration.
The inconvenience this will cause is deeply regretted
