Since its inception, the University of Zambia Press (UNZA Press) has pursued three main objectives:- To stimulate and revitalise research within the University and the broader Zambian academic community and convey the results of such research to the world community of scholars, various organisational planners, administrators and individuals who may need such information in Zambia to bring development to the country;
- To exhibit high standards of book publishing and intellectual integrity, business ethics and soundness of design and manufacturing; and
- To boost morale within the university community by ending dependence on foreign books.
In pursuing the above objectives, UNZA Press publishes six officially recognised scholarly journals, a monograph and selected books of academic nature. Its publications also include the Inaugural Professorial Lecture series. The six journals include: Journal of Science and Technology, African Social Research, Zango, Journal of Humanities and Zambia Law Journal. The monograph is the Zambian Papers. The journals and the monograph are produced by competent editorial boards of the University academics with appropriate qualifications. UNZA Press, on the other hand, apart from being a secretariat for the editorial boards, also handles the administrative and production part of other publications. |
