  • Responsibilities included providing legal advice on various issues affecting the companies, representing the companies in numerous litigatious matters in courts, drawing up various contracts, perfecting mortgages, debentures and other securities; drawing up loan agreements for all advances effected by Meridien Financial Services; drawing credit facility agreement as required by lender institutions such as the PTA Bank, generally perfecting all borrowing documentation for group companies, debt collection responsibilities including pursuing defaulters on various loans given. Responsibilities also included heading the Legal Department and performing personnel and management related tasks vis a vis members of the Legal Department.

       Privatisation Study undertaken by Coopers & Lybrand on behalf of the
       Ministry of Information and Broadcasting

2002 Was part of a team of four lawyers that examined all legislation in     
       Zambia with a view to identifying Acts that required amendment to 
       accommodate alternative dispute resolution and submitted a report to
       USAID

  • Participated in the Central and Southern Africa International Law Moot Court competition held in Gaborone, Botswana in 1987 as one of the two student representatives from the University of Zambia. Zambia won the first prize
     
  • Attended the American Society of International Law Seminar in Washington DC in April 1991
     
  • Delegate to the Paul Reuters International Law Seminar at Geneva,
    Switzerland for the 3rd June to the 21st June 1991. During the period had occasion to attend the plenary sessions of the International Law Commission and had occasional discussions and exchanges of views with the commissioners
     
  • Attended the series of lectures in Human Rights at the International Institute for Human Rights at Strasbourg, France from 1st July to 30th July 1991
