Biography

Academic Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Philosophy – University of Zambia, Lusaka, Zambia
  • Master of Engineering in Mining Engineering, University of Zambia
  • Bachelor of Engineering in Mining Engineering (with honours), Camborne School of Mines, England, UK.
  • Diploma in Education, University of Zambia 
  • G.C.E. Secondary School O-Level (Division Two), Isoka Secondary School, Zambia

Holder of Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Engineering in Mining Engineering from the University of Zambia, and Bachelor of Engineering in Mining Engineering from Camborne School of Mines in UK. He has 15 years of industrial and 22 years of teaching experience. He worked as a Shift Boss and as a Mine Captain at Mufulira Mine. He also worked for 8 years as Principal/Chief Executive Officer of Evelyn Hone College Management Board. He taught at Zambia Institute of Technology and the Copperbelt University, where he worked as a Lecturer, Assistant Dean, and as Head of Department. He joined the University of Zambia in 2015 and worked as a Lecturer and Assistant Dean (PG). He has published papers in internationally recognized Journals and attended national and international workshops, seminars, and conferences. He has worked on National and International Projects. His research interests are mechanical rock penetration, mine development, and technical skills development.

Research Interests

Has vast hard and soft experience in both mining industry and training institutions.  The 12 years industrial experience was gained at Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines (ZCCM), Mufulira Division, while 22 years teaching experience was gained at Zambia Institute of Technology, Camborne School of Mines in the UK, Copperbelt University and University of Zambia.
