Skills Transfer

The third component of the POLYGRAM project involves the transfer of skills among practitioners.  This component targets the wider Research, Programme and Policy Practitioners.  This component of the project was established with the realisation that the available technical skills were sometimes restricted and not widely shared among peers.  The project, therefore, aims to achieve skills transfusion through interaction among peers.   Owing to the busy schedules with the other two components, the Skills Transfer component has delayed to take off.  However, the following modules are expected to be covered before the end of the year:

  • Writing a successful research proposal
  • Writing for difference audiences:
    • Academic papers
    • Policy managers
    • Programme managers
  • The importance of ethics in research
  • Data collection using tablets
  • Introduction to data processing
  • Navigating between software (Excel, Epidata and SPSS)
  • Data triangulation demerits
  • Qualitative analytical techniques
  • Quantitative analytical techniques
  • Techniques for mainstreaming
