Master of Mineral Science in Sustainable Mineral Resource Development

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to read for a transdisciplinary and inter-institutional (the University of Zambia, University of Cape Town and Stellenbosch University) Master of Mineral Science in Sustainable Mineral Resources Development Degree programme for the 2019/2020 academic year. This programme is offered through the Department of Metallurgy and Mineral Processing in the School of Mines at UNZA.  The minimum entry requirements for this programme are as follows: 

This course is ideal for graduates from across a spectrum of disciplines such as economists, geologists, engineers, lawyers, social scientists, accountants and financial professionals who have an interest in advancing their careers in the field of mining and mineral beneficiation in a sustainable environment. 

  • Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree credit or better in any field from a recognized university
  • 75% (Female) and 50% (male) Partial Scholarships are available (To apply, submit a 1-page motivation letter on why you should receive the scholarship).
  •  The application deadline is 31st August 2019.
  • Master of Science Programme will commence in January 2019.    

METHOD OF APPLYING

Application forms, two academic references and one professional reference form can be obtained from the University of Zambia Website www.unza.zm or Directorate of Research and Graduate Studies. Completed application forms should be accompanied by a payment of a non- refundable application fee of K150.00 for Zambians and US$60.00 for non-Zambians. Postal and Money Orders are no longer accepted. Money should be deposited into Account number 0100110272200 Standard Chartered Main Branch Lusaka.
