Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following positions in the University of Zambia.


Purpose: To coordinate policy formulation process, analyse, monitor and evaluate the University of Zambia’s performance in relation to the Strategic Plan and responsible for planning and implementing the university’s performance framework that enables continuous improvement and drive a culture of performance.


1.    Manages the development and implementation of the strategic plans and to ensure goals and objectives are achieved.
2.    Ensures alignment of the strategic plan to functions and operations in the University and monitors the progress made.
3.    Coordinates  preparation  of  the  University  policies  and  strategic  plan  to  facilitate  rational  utilisation  of resources.
4.    Undertakes  effective  monitoring  and  evaluation  of  University  policies,  projects  and  strategic  plan  to facilitate timely reviews and interventions.
5.    Coordinates  preparation  of  the  University  of  Zambia  Annual  Work  Plans  in  order  to  facilitate  rational utilisation of resources.
6.    Develops  and  maintains  an  accurate  competitor  profile  database  of  all  the  services  and  facilitates provided by other universities.
7.    Coordinates and ensures preparation of the University of Zambia Annual Report.
8.    Provides input and participates in the preparation of the Annual budget for the university.
9.    Facilitates the development and implementation of the investment programmes in order to contribute to the development of the University.
10.    Manages  effectively,  technical  cooperation  in  order  to  facilitate  implementation  of  agreed  areas  of cooperation.
11.    Plans and implements a comprehensive performance management function for the University.
12.    Manages core performance management and feedback processes and develops line managers’ capability on employing these processes.
13.    Provides strategic advice and guidance on the performance management framework.
14.    Oversees the development  and  implementation of university-wide  performance appraisal  programmes and  provides  advice  and  recommendations  to  University  Management  and  staff  on  performance improvement.
15.    Analyses and reports on performance appraisal results for individual employees and Schools and Units.
16.    Provides  ongoing  oversight  and  support  to  ensure  that  performance  measures  are  being  used  to effectively   manage employees’   performance, operations,   identify   and   manage   risks,   and   effect organizational change.
17.    Develops and conducts presentations and training in Schools/Units to staff on the performance appraisal system.
18.    Provides training to all levels of staff on performance management and systems.
19.    Liaises   with   the   Manager,   Training   and   Development   to   develop   and   implement performance improvement plans for individual employees.


1.    Grade 12 / Form V Certificate.
2.    Bachelors’ degree in a Social Science, Business or related field.
3.    Master’s   degree Human   Resource   Management,   Human   Resource   Development, Business Administration, Strategic Management, Management Strategy, Public Policy or any relevant qualification.
4.    At least ten (10) years practical experience of which at least five (5) years must be at senior management level.
5.    Must be computer literate.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

1.    Experience in strategic planning, Corporate Performance and business analytics.
2.    Ability to lead, inspire and motivate teams.
3.    Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
4.    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


Purpose: To provide clerical services related to the maintenance of accounting records in the School/Unit.


(1)    Verifies accuracy of relevant documents and makes calculations of payments on instruction of superiors.
(2)    Examines documents for filling such as correspondence, invoices, receipts and many others according to subject or other systems.
(3)    Maintains a filing index or system to facilitate reference to or retrieval of documents.
(4)    (4) Retrieves and transfers filed documents on request and keep record of location.
(5)    (5) Participates in preparing reports on deadlines as directed and demanded by the superior.


(1)    Grade 12 School Certificate or its equivalent.
(2)    ZICA Technician or its equivalent.
(3)    At least two (2) years relevant work experience.
(4)    Member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants.
(5)    Must be Computer literate.
