The University of Zambia and the Confucius Institute at its Great East Road campus is hosting the 2017 Joint Conference of Confucius Institutes in Africa with support from the Chinese Embassy in Zambia. The Confucius Institute Headquarters/Hanban of China has arranged to hold its Joint Conference of Confucius Institutes in Africa 2017, particularly, Zambia. This conference will be held at Mulungushi International Conference Centre from 18th to 19th May 2017.

Theme: vocational and technical training by Confucius institutes, cooperation between Confucius institutes and Chinese-funded agencies and local teacher training. The event will be held at the Mulungushi International Conference center and will run from the 18th - 19th  May, 2017.  .

The aim of the event is to implement the Development Plan of Confucius Institute (2012-2020), exchange experiences to enhance cooperation and promote the development of Confucius institutes of Africa.

Participants in the conference include delegates from 54 Confucius institutes and classrooms from 35 African countries and delegates from Chinese partner universities, representatives from the Embassy of People's Republic of China in Zambia, representatives from China-funded organisations and representatives from Confucius institute headquarters, Hanban, China.

Registration for attendance of the conference begins on the Wednesday, 17th of May 2017 starting at 09:00 hours.
