UNZA Holds Road to Excellence Training
UNZA Council Chairperson Mrs Sherry Thole has emphasized the need for excellence at the institution.
Speaking at a three - day training workshop dubbed ‘The Road to Excellence’ at Radisson Blu Hotel on the 8th of September, 2014, Mrs Thosle said the institution had a deep resolve to set the tone for excellence in education practice and that service and excellence were essential tenets to business.
Mrs. Thole said the institution had set up a Directorate of Quality Assurance which was an indication for the institutions resolve for excellence. She urged the university community to brace for change in its teaching and learning as well as support services. .
Mrs Thole also announced that the University of Zambia would this year introduce a degree in Business Administration, in preparation for rolling out the Master of Business Administration at the close of the year.
She said the two initiatives were a major response to the labor market’s need for business degree graduates from the University of Zambia.
“Hence the institution will be launching a Business School bringing the number of schools at the institution to 10 and will expand the number of degree and post graduate degree programmes to one hundred and fifty seven”, she said.
In attendance was the University Acting-Vice Chancellor Prof Enala Tembo Mwase, Global Excellence Chairperson Arieli Hezki and members of the University of Zambia Management Staff.
