The Community Based Newborn, Maternal and Child Health Initative (CBNB & MCHI) was a six year project what was conducted in two districts of Zambia under the Leadership of Prof. Mary Shilalukey Ngoma. Neonates were the primary target of the initiative, while mothers were the secondary target.The aim of the project was to reduce maternal, child and neonatal mortality and morbidity in Zambian rural communities by trained Community Health Workers and Traditional Birth Attendants.

The Project was coordinated by Miss Tepa Nkumbula and Funded by UNICEF.

The findings of the initiative are soon to be published.
