The department is headed by the Assistant Dean of Students at Great East Road Campus (GERC). It is responsible for campus accommodation, hostel hygiene and sanitation, student health, security and student disciplinary control. These constitute the core activities to enhance student welfare and personnel service provision. The department coordinates the allocation of hostel accommodation at the commencement of each semester and during vacation, as well as administrative liaison for efficient management of this service.
Through the residences department, the unit accommodates students in the halls of residence at both campuses, i.e the Great East Road and Ridgeway campuses. To expand the bed space size the unit has also opened up a boarding house where students are accommodated.
Students’ sensitization on Sanitation and hygiene, rules and regulations
This activity is conducted in collaboration with the United Nations Education Scientific and Cultural Organization - UNESCO. It is done every year to sensitize students on various matters ranging from sanitation and hygiene to rules and regulations, drug abuse and Security among others subjects.
