President Hichilema Graces UNZA’s 54th Graduation Ceremony, Urges Varsities not to Operate in Silos

The Republican President, His Excellency, Mr. Hakainde Hichilema has implored higher institutions of learning not to operate in silos or as isolated centres of excellence, but rather to function as a united and cohesive force, from early childhood education through tertiary education.

UNZA Awards Scholarships under FACE-NDC Project

The University of Zambia (UNZA) through the Facility for Climate Empowerment to achieve Nationally Determined Contributions (FACE-NDC) project which is collaboratively being implemented by five consortium partners namely FAO, UNESCO, UNITAR, CBU and the University of Zambia and it is running from 2023-2030 has awarded scholarships to 10 doctoral candidates who emerged successful from a rigorous and highly competitive selection process.

Gov’t Urges Researchers To Boost Climate Action Capacity

In a significant step towards strengthening capacity for effective climate action, the Government of the Republic of Zambia through the University of Zambia (UNZA) School of Natural and Applied Sciences in collaboration with CLimate Adaptation and REsilience (CLARE Progrmme) funded by the governments of the United Kingdom and Canada through the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) officially launched the 2025 CLARExchange Forum in Zambia under the theme: “Co-Creating Climate and Adaptation Resilience Narratives” at Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Lusaka on Tuesday, 6th May 2025.

Anti-Corruption Commission Lauds University of Zambia for Establishing Integrity Committee

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has commended the University of Zambia (UNZA) for taking a step to form an Integrity Committee (IC) whose mandate will be to oversee and implement measures aimed at preventing corruption, ensuring transparency, promoting accountability, and addressing other forms of malfeasance within the institution.

President Hichilema Visits Unza, Ridgway Campuses, Pledges to Finish Incomplete Hostels

The Republican President, His Excellency, Mr. Hakainde Hichilema, has pledged to complete the students’ hostels both at the University of Zambia’s Great East Road and Ridgeway Campuses on Wednesday, 9th April 2025.

Speaking during the tour of incomplete hostels at both campuses, President Hichilema said the New Dawn government has prioritised education and is committed to resolving the challenges the university was facing. President Hichilema said his government has developed a deliberate strategy to promote education from the grassroots because education was an equaliser.
