Department of Para-Clinical Studies

The Department of Paraclinical Studies is responsible for 3rd and 4th year pre-clinical Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine students. It offers the following undergraduate courses:

  • Pathology of Infectious and Non-infectious Veterinary Diseases

  • Lymph node Biopsy Examination

  • Faecal Sample examination for worm eggs and parasites
  • Faecal Culture for nematode identification
  • Brain Crush Smear Examination
  • Grass sample examination for infective nematode larvae
  • Post-mortem examination of carcasses
  • Histopathological examinations

The department is also a WHO regional reference centre for the diagnosis of Epizootic Ulcerative Syndrome (EUS).
