  Brief Introduction of School

Nyumba Yanga Secondary School is a public school.It was founded in 2012. There are 7 department, 49 class teachers and 2,500 students. Nyumba Yanga Secondary School is the only secondary

school that offers Chinese course in Lusaka.There are five (5) Chinese classes, 200 Chinese learnerS from Grade 8 to Grade 11.

  NYUMBA YANGA SECONDARY SCHOOL HOLDS SPRING FESTIVAL ACTIVITY

On February 8th, Nyumba Yanga Secondary School held the Spring Festival Cultural Activity and more than 60 teachers and pupils attended the activity.

The Spring Festival activity is divided into four (4) parts:

 The first part is a Lecture about the Spring Festival Culture. The volunteer teacher, Hao Peixi introduced the Chinese New Year culture and traditional customs to pupils and the local teachers. The pupils were even allowed to ask questions about the Chinese New Year and the atmosphere was very conducive.

The second part is writing the New Year scrolls, the Chinese teacher Ms. Zuo Zhanping taught pupils how to write posture and writing skills, she explained the significance and the good wishes which are contained in the contents of the couplets to pupils.

 The third part is Performance. The pupils played different roles such as; elders, children and friends. They also performed traditional activities of the Spring Festival, including New Year's greetings and some traditions.

     After the activity, pupils learned more about the traditional Chinese New Year culture and realized the uniqueness of calligraphic characters. Hence, their enthusiasm of learning Chinese was raised.
